  14. the makeargs should contain either a XCFLAGS-'$(XCFLAGS)'
  15. or a CFLAGS='$(CFLAGS)', to be able to enable optimization
  16. simply by saying: make CFLAGS="-O". The web2c-Makefile
  17. works this way.
